The national U20 women’s national football team held its final training session on Wednesday at Kasarani Annex ahead of their upcoming return leg match against Angola.

The Kenyans, who hold a commanding 6-1 advantage, will travel to Angola on Thursday for the showdown that will be staged in Luanda.

The Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba while addressing journalists during their last training session has expressed that the big margin is inconsequential to how they will approach the return leg.

"The team has trained, they are ready but our approach is not going as if we have already won the match despite winning the first leg. Such matches are not over until you win the secom. There is no such thing as a big lead, we will be looking to score more goals,” Odemba said.

Goals from Valerie Nekesa, Charity Midewa and Faith Naliaka put the Starlets in pole position to progress to the next round, a feat that team captain Jane Hato says is not their only target as they eye World Cup qualification.

"Coach has told us the target and the target is just not winning over Angola but to qualify for the World Cup. The way we will approach the game against Angola is the same way we will approach Botswana or Cameroon if we progress."

Starlets will take on Angola on Saturday for a chance to face either Botswana or Cameroon in the next round.
