Roar for the Lion as Matano agree two-year deal

The 2017 GOtv-Shield winning coach Robert ‘The Lion’ Matano has agreed to sign an improved new two-year contract with AFC Leopards.

Matano who has revived Leopards since taking over from Englishman Stewart Hall, half-way through last term, has been the object of great admiration, with several clubs including giants Tusker FC salivating for his signature.

Leopards Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Namai , told Citizen Digital that the ‘Lion’ as he is fondly known, is set to put pen to paper by close of business on Wednesday.

“We have agreed with him on the signing of an improved contract, an exercise we are determined to complete on Wednesday,” Namai said.

“We have already accepted all his terms but we are going to reveal the content of the contract on the unveiling day,” he said, adding that, “ he has been given a free hand to choose people to work with,”Namai added.

Speculation had been rife on the long term future of the no-nonsense coach but Ingwe have now won the battle to keep his services.
