Rowdy fans engage police in running battle at Kasarani

Rowdy fans are engaging police in running battle outside the Kasarani Stadium as they attempt to gain forceful entry to Kenya’s sporting cathedral.

Trouble started at Gate Six and Three when a group of fans grew impatient and attempted to force entry. As the situation was threatening to get out of hand, the men-in-blue moved with speed to lob teargas canisters as the fans took to their heels.

However, others who were determined to gain entry opted to fight back hurling stones as a retaliatory measure.

The highly anticipated match pitting Ethiopia and Kenya kicks off at 4pm, with the antagonists jostling for a ticket to next year’s African Cup of Nations finals to be held in Cameroon.
