Rugby prodigy Mugambi stabbed to death

Rugby prodigy and Miathene High School player Kenneth Mugambi is dead.

The 20-year-old who has showed remarkable talent was accosted last night in the company of his brother in Nkubu.
The duo was on their way home to collect school fees arrears when the unfortunate event occurred.

His sibling however escaped unscathed. The matter has since been reported at Nkubu Police Station.
Speaking to Citizen Digital Miathene head coach Patrick Mwika said the late had deep stab wounds in the throat and hands.

“Mugambi was going to collect school fees arrears when they were attacked.

“The robbers who were armed and stabbed Mugambi in the throat and in the hands,” Mwika said, adding that Mugambi died shortly thereafter due to excessive bleeding.

The body has since been moved to Consolata Hospital morgue.

Mugambi featured prominently for his team’s rugby team at last year’s Eastern Region Secondary School Games.
“He was a very talented player; very disciplined and focused in his studies,”Mwika added.
