Rupia doubles lifts Leopards past Bidco

Elvis Rupia scored a second half brace as AFC Leopards defeated Bidco United on Sunday to move second on the FKF Premier League standings, level on points with leaders KCB FC who have a better goal difference.

Leopards, who were playing their first match post Tomas Trucha who resigned last week, survived a difficult first half in which Bidco bravely threw men forward but were undone by poor finishing.

Leopards were saved by the post minutes before half time and the newly promoted side would come to rue those missed chances when Rupia struck twice after the restart.

Stand-in coach Anthony Kimani made changes in the second half after a barren first half bring in Boniface Mukhekhe and Bienvenue Shaka with Caleb Olilo and Austin Odhiambo going the retreating to the bench.

Kimani will be more than happy to lead his side to maximum points for the second time in the same venue after hammering Tusker FC 2-1 under the Czech Republican Trucha who is believed to have join Penang FA of Malaysia.

Leopards next face the 2009 champions Sofapaka at home while Bidco travel to face Kariobangi Sharks.
