Safari Tour action resumes at Thika Greens

Action resumes in the 2019/20 Safati Tour Golf Series this afternoon after a short holiday break, at the Thika Greens Golf Resort.

This will be the seventh tournament on the tour, which has so far made successful stops across Kenya and Uganda; in the process producing five different winners, namely; Greg Snow, Madalitso Muthiya, Tonu Omuli, Jastas Madoya and Dismas Indiza.

The leg has attracted over 40 professional golfers drawn from the region, led by Dismas Indiza, who is the current series leader and comes to Thika Greens off back to back wins at the Lake Victoria Serena and Great Rift Valley Golf Resorts.

Indiza is on 290.6 ‘Road to the 2020 Magical Kenya Open’ points, will be in the good company of second placed Eric Ooko (232 points), Thika Golf Club’s Simon Ngige (214.6 points) and Greg Snow all set to feature at Thika Greens.

Other players set to take on the seventh leg of the Safari Tour include Rwanda’s Aloys Nsabimana who is currently in 27th spot on the series standings, Uganda’s Mwanja Becca and Malawi’s trio of Paul Chidale, Partridge Shycal and Symon Moses.

The tournament will be preceded by a PRO-AM event where amateurs will get a chance to play alongside the professionals, before the pros take on the course for a stake of the KES. 1 Million prize kitty and valuable ‘Road to the 2020 Magical Kenya Open points,’ over four rounds of Golf.

From the Thika Greens Golf Resort, action will immediately move to the Muthaiga Golf Club for the eighth leg, from the 11th to 15th of January. The Muthaiga leg was initially slated for 14th to the 18th of December was postponed due to the rains experienced at the time.

The Safari tour is an initiative of the Kenya Open Golf Limited, aimed at preparing Kenyan pro golfers for the 2020 Magical Kenya Open, presented by ABSA.
