Santos has eyes on Switzerland

Portugal overcame Gibraltar 5-0 on Thursday in an international friendly but Fernando Santos’ eyes are on next week’s World Cup qualifier against Switzerland.

The former Greece coach believes the fixture against the European minnows was better than a training run-out but now his attentions are turning to the Swiss.

The European champions travel to Basel on Tuesday, and Santos suggested qualification will come down to the two teams and Hungary.

Portugal had led just 1-0 at half-time in Porto, but three goals in a six minute period condemned Gibraltar to a 14th match without victory.
