Saracens and KCB in Floodies grudge rematch

Hosts Impala Saracens will on Saturday battle it out for the title of this year’s Foodies when they lock horns with  local rivals KCB rugby- a repeat of last year’s final.

The play offs pitting Homeboyx RFC against Mean Machine will kick off at 2:00pm at the Impala Rugby Grounds, with a couple of matches preceding the grand finale, which will see Saracens and the Lions, lock horns from 7pm

In the 2016 edition, Impala dismantled the reigning Kenya Cup champions 33-22 to clinch the trophy, and are keen to use the home advantage to triumph again.

The hosts, on their way to the final, had to brush off campus boys Mean Machine 20-10 in the first club semi-final.

The ‘Lions’ will be looking to roar against the ‘Saries’ having seen off Homeboyz 18-16 in a mouthwatering second semifinal clash.

Brian Otieno and Ken Moseti will be the key pillars for the star- studded KCB side, as Impala will be looking upon Mark Kwemoi to lead their quest for a second trophy in row.

However, there are other key games in contention with new surprise package Menengai Oilers looking to defend their title in the University category against Catholic Monks at 3: 30pm.

Ngong road based Kenya Harlequins will be looking to heal their wounds after a disastrous run in the floodlights with a plate victory.

Harlequins will tackle Strathmore at 5pm in the plate final. On the other hand, Leos got a direct ticket to the semis, factoring in the odd number of the teams available to fight for the slot, and will be hoping the students falter at the final.

Homeboyz rugby who unfortunately was knocked out by Harlequins will battle it out with championship side Mean Machine for the playoffs to bring down the curtains at this year’s Impala Floodlights.
