It could take much longer for School Games to resume once schools  reopen after the Ministry of Education announced that all co-curricular activities would remain suspended.

A stack of new guidelines designed to ensure safety when learning resumes amid coronavirus pandemic, outlines that inter-school games and other events that create crowded conditions remain suspended.

Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) and the International Schools Sport Federation (ISF) have recently advised the government to ensure sports continue to hold its rightful place in the schools curriculum when schools reopen.

The two school games governing bodies have urged the government to explore all options on the table to ensure school games are not ‘sacrificed’, in order to ‘maintain the integrity’ of Kenya students ‘complete’ life in school.
