Speaking after helping Serani secure Regional slot for the first time in four years, Coach Swaleh Abdallah Sundah reiterated their success to six months preparatioms and playing a number of friendlies with well established teams in Mombasa.

Sundah, who formerly coached Tononoka Secondary and Green Palm Academy, applauded their Principal for his commitment towards the team’s success.

“We have been training hard since January and our Primcipal is also giving us a lot of support and that is our secret,” said Sundah.

In girls category, Mama Ngina Girls will fly the Mombasa County flag in the regional games after winning both under 16 and 19 categories.

Brenda Nyamu’s goal in the 41st minute was enough to seal the victory for the Cream of the Coast Girls in the under 19 category as their juniors got a free ride when their competitors Valerye MacMillan arrived late for the game.

Their coach, Abdulfatah Abubakar expressed his joy for retaining their County title for a third yearn in a row promising fireworks in the regional games.

“We have already corrected our last two year mistakes and we are good to go for the national slot in Malindi.”

In Kilifi County, newbies Canon Secondary went unbeaten as they outclassed Mariakani Secondary 3-1 while Mida went past Lutsangani by 4-1 to secure under 16 boys football.

Kwale High will represent Kwale County in under 16 boys football category after winning their final 2-0 against Mazeras boys.

The Coast region Secondary School games will be held in Malindi from 19-22 June.
