Shabana face Modern Coast chasing for third win on the trot

Shabana FC team manager Elijah Sani is happy his charges have turned a corner from their poor start to the season.

After collecting a point from their opening two matches, the glamour boys have found their shooting gear after securing back to back scalps victories against Coast Stima and Mwatate FC in their last two outings.

Sani has attributed their good run to their meticulous preparation and ”a one game at a time approach”.

“I’m happy the boys have managed well the last two games against tough opponents but they managed to collect maximum points.

“These two games have been a perfect platform for the team to bounce back from a disappointing start.”

The team takes on 16th placed Modern Coast Rangers at Serani grounds in Wednesday’s 3pm kick-off and Sani understands the challenge that awaits them.

“The National Super League (NSL) is very competitive since you have to earn every point.

“There are no easy games in this division and I believe it is the toughest in Kenyan football,” he reckons.

The ultimate objective of the teams is to qualify for the top tier league, a feat that has been hard to come by having failed to do so in their last two attempts.

However Sani remains adamant the team is more potent this season and will push to its tail end to realize this dream.

“I feel that the boys are ready to deliver the goods this time. Our priority in the preseason was to get players that will help the team improve from last season’s lackluster performances.

“We have a big squad of 30 players which makes it very competitive as every player wants to start.”

He hopes this competition will bring the best out of his charges as they embark on a long season ahead.

The two straight wins have pushed the team to ninth on the NSL log and will go all out to earn more against Modern Coast Rangers.
