Sharks lead scramble for second as NSL resumes

The grand battle for National Super League (NSL) second place resumes on Saturday with Kariobangi Sharks – second on 77 points-, Zoo Kericho FC (75) and Nakumatt FC (74) virtually inseparable with two rounds left to play.

The free-scoring Sharks have the easiest fixture on paper, coming up against a Ligi Ndogo side on the brink of relegation while Nakumatt visit lowly Modern Coast Rangers.

Third-placed Zoo face the trickier fixture, travelling to Bidco United although their hot from suggests they will have little to worry about against the side that has won only once in their last five fixtures.

“It’s simple; we have to win all our remaining fixtures if we should at all survive. It’s a tall a tall order for us but we put ourselves in this position so we have to do our best,” Ligi Ndogo Team Manager Chris Amimo stated.

KCB who drew blanks in their last fixture host struggling Agro Chemicals with only Nakumatt in their sight as they seek to finish at least in the top four and hope the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) promote four clubs into the top-flight.

St. Joseph FC who need only one win from their last two take on Palos FC as they scramble to guarantee their NSL status for the next season. Much as their second-tier status is at stake, Team Manager Collins Omondi is setting his eyes on FC talanta who are directly above them.

“All we’re aiming for is a point away at Palos and a win against Bidco in our last fixture of the season and with that hopefull we can finish above Talanta,” Omondi stated.

The already relegated Shabana FC play Police FC in Sunday’s only fixture.
