Sharks lure duo ahead of new season as transfers intensify

Kenya Premier League clubs are leaving nothing to chance bolstering their squads ahead of the new season set to begin on December 8.

The latest to join the cue is FKF Shield champions Kariobangi Sharks who have signed Thomas Teka and Nixon Omondi from Nzoia Sugar and Kenya Police respectively.

The William Muluya coached side who will feature for the first time in the CAF- Confederation Cup next year have also added to their ranks youthful talents in Finlay Osoro and Peter James Outu from Dagoretti High School.

The club announced on its official Twitter handle that the duo will join the squad in December after the completion of their secondary examinations.

Champions Gor Mahia currently in Liverpool ahead of Tuesday friendly against Everton have signed Ugandan International duo of striker Erisa Sekissambu from Vipers SC and left-back Shafik Batambuze from Tanzanian side Singida United.

The 17-time champions also welcomed back 2016 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Kenneth Muguna who returned to the club after a short professional stint with Albania side KF Tirana.

Also in Gor’s roster is20-year-old Kenyatta University student and defensive midfielder Castro Ogendo who penned a four- year deal with the outfit, defender Geoffrey Ochieng from Western Stima and Pascal Ogweno from Kariobangi Sharks.

AFC Leopards have also boosted their squad with defender Isaac Kipyegon joining from KPL side Zoo Kericho on a three -year deal contract while Sony Sugar has completed the signing of Ugandan import Robert Achema from Tusker FC on a one- year deal.

At the same time, Posta Rangers have released seven players ahead of the new season. They are Dennis Mukaisi, Erick Kibiru, Samuel Mwanje, Luke Ochieng, Paul Odhiambo, Kennedy Otieno and Sammy Okinda.

The transfer deadline will  close on January 4.
