But at the regional championship we want to realize our dream of featuring at the national school games,” Mwachaunga said.

“We still have bitter memories of the regional finals where we believe we could have won easily in normal time. But at the regional championship we want to beat everyone to realize our dream of featuring at the national school games,” Mwachaunga said.

But his rival Hamisi Masusa has vowed to go to the nationals.

“As for the sub county games were the most difficult, so the regionals will just be an avenue for us to sharpen our skills to eventually be crowned the Kenyan champions for the first time ever,” Masusa said.

Little know Mkongani Secondary school under 19 football team beat Shimba Hills 3 – 0 on post match penalties to be crowned champions of Kwale County Secondary Schools Term Two games held at Kwale High School.

Mkongani were a force to reckon with in this years championship after winning the Matuga Sub-county Under-16 and Under-19 football titles.

Kwale Girls Under -19 football team retained their title by thrushing rivals Waa Girls 4-0 in matches played at the same venue.

Catherine Aringo scored two goals with Amani Mwakuni and Elizabeth Katungwa getting the other goals for Kwale who proceed to defend their regional title alongside Waa Girls.

Waa Boys and Girls won Under -16 football titles.

Waa downed Kwale Girls by a solitary goal same as their boys against Lunga Lunga secondary retaining their title successfully.

The games almost aborted after some teachers come out with anger on Kwale County education officials for holding onto their allowances and officiating fees but they were eventually paid.

There were no surprise’s as Kaya Tiwi secondary won the netball title, out smarting Matuga Girls 58-5. The good news is that both teams advanced to the regionals championship.

Waa Boys and Kwale Girls successfully defended the boys’ and girls’ volleyball titles.

Waa won by 3 – 0 against Shimoni secondary school while Kwale Girls beat Tumaini Secondary by three sets to one.

All the finalist qualify for the regionals.
