Shujaa bounce back with crushing victory over clueless Russia

Kenya 7’s posted their first win in the ongoing Cape Town Sevens with a resounding 35-0 win against a lowly Russia side.

Shujaa showed some improvement in their defence and ball handling- major errors which made them succumb to a shock 24-14 loss to France in their opening fixture.

But against Russia, Brian Tanga side stepped three Russia defenders, to give Kenya her first try but Sammy Oliech failed to convert the well worked try.

Oscar Ouma stole the ball from a breakdown to pass it to Tanga who sidestepped the rushing Russia defenders before offloading to a charging Sammy Oliech leaving the Russians helpless, with Oliech converting his try.

The Shujaa were not done yet .Powerhouse Willy Ambaka introduced himself in the game after they exchanged simple hands with Samuel Muregi before Ambaka brushed a surging defendeR to dive at the corner of the try box.

Centre Referee Rasta Rasivhenge blew his whistle to signal half time with Keny leading 17-0.

The burly Dan Sikuta had an easy try as he ran over two defenders soon after the break for 22-0 lead.

Russians showed no intent of winning the game and Shujaa took that to their advantage with Aurthur Owira scoring his 38th try in the Series after a good counter attack from Shujaa.
