Shujaa falls flat against South Africa

Shujaa dropped to the Challenge Trophy after a 10-35 loss to South Africa, coupled with Canada’s 28-14 win over France ruled out the possibility of them finishing in the top two in Pool B at the Hong Kong Sevens, the seventh round of the 2016/17 HSBC Sevens World Series.

Wernek Kok scored the first of his three tries, Branco du Preez converting for a 7-0 lead before du Preez scored and converted to double the lead.

The Blitzbokke continued to impose themselves, du Preez converting Philp Snyman’s try to triple the lead, 21-0.

Nelson Oyoo would turn his marker inside out, going over the chalk to make it 21-5 at the break.

Dennis Ombachi joined Oyoo in landing his second try of the weekend but two more converted tries from Kok closed out the win for South Africa.
