Shujaa, Lionesses back to training

The national rugby sevens teams are back in training after the festive period break in preparation for upcoming tournaments.

The Kenya Sevens, also known as Shujaa, and their women counterparts Lionesses, reported back to training today morning at the Kenya Harlequins grounds on Ngong Road.

Shujaa will be hoping to continue their impressive showing at the IRB Series when they fly out to New Zealand for the Hamilton Sevens scheduled for the 25th and 26th January 2020 at the iconic FMG stadium Waikato in Hamilton.

Kenya are pooled together with Cape Town  runners up South Africa, Japan and England and will be keen on replicating the impressive play in previous circuits to book a place in the main cup quarter finals.

On the other hand, the Kenya Lionesses are preparing for the HSBC Hong Kong Sevens due in late March.

The Kevin Wambua led side is hoping to make their mark in the world circuit, after sealing Olympic qualification last year.

Squads for the respective teams will be named in the coming days.
