Shujaa, Lionesses in Dubai for invitational tournament

The Kenya Sevens and Lionesses team landed safely in Dubai earlier this morning ahead of the Emirates Dubai Invitational Sevens taking place in the next two weeks.

Andrew Amonde will skipper the men’s side during the two-week tournament assisted by Billy Odhiambo while Phila Olando retains the captaincy in the women’s team.

Eden Agero and Samuel Oliech returned to Shujaa’s squad after missing out on February’s Madrid Invitational sevens.

Others include Vincent Onyala, Alvin Otieno, Bush Mwale, Willy Ambaka, Harold Anduvate, Johnstone Olindi, Daniel Taabu, Tony Omondi, Sammy Oliech, Eden Agero, Jefferey Olouch, Nelson Oyoo, Jacob Ojee and Derrick Keyoga.

Sinaida Aura comes out of retirement to join Lionesses squad alongside debutant Terry Ayesa.

Others include Christabel Lindo, Celestine Masinde, Camilla Cynthia, Enid Ouma, Janet Okelo, Diana Awino, Leah Wambui, Sarah Oluche, Naomi Amuguni, Stella Wafula, Judith Auma, Linet Mora, Sinaida Aura and Sheila Chajira.

Other teams participating in the tournament are: Japan, Canada, Spain, Uganda, France, Argentina and Chile in the men’s category while women’s category includes USA, Canada, France, Brazil and Japan.

They’re expected to play in a round robin format.
