Simba SC spokesman Haji Manara says Francis Kahata’s discipline is key to his success in the Tanzania Premier League adding that the Msimbazi based side is set to raid Gor Mahia yet again for another key talent.
Kahata joined Simba from Gor last year and has been a key member of the team’s effort to remain top of the log as they aim to retain the title.
Simba are 14 points ahead of second placed Azam FC ahead of the League restart on June 13 having taken a break due to Covid 19 pandemic.
“The boy is very dedicated to his work; you will never hear any scandal about him. He comes to training ground early and leaves late and he is always trying something new to improve his skills.
His style of play suits our team especially his combination with Meddie Kagere; it’s a joy to watch the two in action and we are hoping to see more of that in future,”said Haji.
The spokesperson also confirmed they have identified one player at K’Ogalo whom they will be signing when the transfer window opens.
“We have a good relationship with Gor. They are a great team with very good players plus their huge fan base in the region makes them a special team. We have however identified one player whom I will not disclose his name and we will be signing him when the transfer window opens,” he said.
Signing another talent from K’Ogalo after the capture of Kagere and Kahata will be an insult to the club’s fans who are still smarting from the exit of the dependable duo.
“We are the biggest team in this region; we have the money to sign any player that we want and no player can say no to Simba,”he bragged.
We have dominated the Tanzania league for long and we are now building a team that will conquer Africa and for that to happen we will need the best of the best and it’s unfortunate some teams will fall victims of our ambition,” Manara added, further twisting the knife on the back of K’Ogalo.
Haji also attributed the team’s success to good structures and political goodwill from the government of Tanzania.
“The government is the biggest sports sponsor in any country that has succeeded in sports development, that’s only happens when you show them your plans and how accountable you are to the whatever amount they give you.
Sponsors are attracted to good structures and proper accountability, but if you are always in court battling over power there is no way you will grow the sport. In fact no one will want to be associated with bad image – that’s a lesson Kenyan football management needs to learn,”Manara told Hot 96 Arena.
