Simbas prey on Zimbabwe after mauling Morocco

Kenya Simbas assistant coach Dominique Habimana has said his charges focus is on Zimbabwe whom they tackle this weekend at the RFUEA grounds from 3pm in an Africa Gold Cup clash.

“Zimbabwe is a very different opponent so we have to adjust a few things in our team that played against Morocco so as to contain the power and strength in Zimbabwe’s way of play.”

This come days after Simba’s got their first ever win in Morocco, outshining the hosts 28-24 last weekend in a Gold Cup opener.

“The boys showed a lot of resilient playing to their last sweat having in mind that most of them were making debut in the competition.”

“I’m very happy with their performance; they showed a lot of discipline and character in the match.”

Simbas scored tries through new full back Biko Adema, Tony Onyango and Moses Amusala — all converted by Darwin Mukidza.

Their historic win over Morocco was Simba’s opening game in the Gold Cup that also doubles as 2019 World cup qualifiers.

It was Morocco’s second game after they drew 23-23 against Zimbabwe in Harare a fortnight ago.

Zimbabwe is expected to land in the country tomorrow ahead of the weekend showdown.

Other teams in the mix are Tunisia and Namibia.Namibia leads the six-team log with ten points with Kenya coming second with five.
