Singida United clinched the third spot of the Super Cup final after a penalty shoot out which they won 4 – 1 against Kakamega Homeboyz.

Deus Kaseke, Adam Miraj, Shafik Batambuze and Danny Lyanga converted their spot kicks for the victory whilst Homeboyz could only convert one.

Kakamega Homeboyz and Singida United played to one all draw with goals from Wycliffe Opondo and Danny Lyanga to send the tie to a penalty shoot out.

Nkata seemed resigned for a shoot out substituting his keeper Michaek Wanyika for Arakaza McArthur.

Homeboyz took the lead four minutes into the match with Wycliffe Opondo slotting in the ball home after Singida’s defence failed to clear their lines rattling Suleiman Hemedi’s charges from early on.

Paul Nkata’s side dealt with the opponents attacking pressure well and reduced the Tanzanian side to test Michael Wanyika’s goal from long range shots.

The best chance Singida had was from a right wing cross that called Homeboyz custodian into action tipping the ball away as it came off the post.

Homeboyz waves of attack did not relent with Estone Esiye, Moses Mudavadi and Keopas Mutuu raiding Manyika’s goal unsuccessfully.

A composed Singida intensified it’s search for an equaliser in the second half. They were on the ascendancy, launching a series of attacks on Homeboyz.

Their efforts were rewarded on the 60th minute. Danny Lyanga found himself into space in Homeboyz territory and headed in the equaliser to level the tie.

Homeboyz tempo dipped and the Ugandan tactician Nkata, called on the services of Noah Wafula who came in for Estone Esiye.

Suleiman Hemedi also looked to his bench for fresh legs making multiple substitutions through the half. Yusuf Kagoma, Felipe Santos and Elinyesia Sumbi came from the bench.

The soggy conditions of the pitch were on focus when Mutuu was through on goal for the ball to stop on a muddy patch cutting off Homeboyz attack.
