Newly unveiled Young Africans goalkeeper trainer Razak Siwa has promised to end the keeper’s woes at the Dar es Salaam based side and help them end Simba’s dominance in the Tanzanian league.

Speaking after his official unveiling, Siwa who is also a dyed-in-the-wool fan of Yanga said he had been following keenly the progress of the team and he will have a smooth process of reviving the keeper’s department.

“I know my work will be very easy because I am not new here at Yanga and I have been following their matches in all competitions,” said Siwa.

The former Bandari goalkeeper’s trainer added that he will not limit his duties in between the posts but also help the soon to be named head coach in some of the infield works.

“We will help one another just to make sure all our departments are up to task and deliver the title this season.”

In the title race, Yanga are topping the log with 50 points, four ahead of their rivals Simba with three games in hand but Siwa is optimistic that they will still pull a surprise if they can go on  and win all their remaining matches in the league.

Simba have won the Tanzanian mainland league three years in a row.

Siwa who has also had stints with the national football team, Harambee Stars,  in the same capacity, will reunite with Farouk Shikhalo, whom they worked together with at Bandari FC.

Shikhalo has already expressed his joy of working again with his former mentor by welcoming him through his social media accounts.

“Welcome coach to the ‘timu ya wananchi’,” wrote the shot stopper on his Facebook account.

Yanga’s next assignment after the international break will be against KMC as Simba hunt for points against AS Vita club in CAF Champions League match.

Simba who top group A only need a point in their remaining two matches to qualify for the quarter finals.
