Soccer Queens came back to winning ways in the Women’s Premier League after they thrashed Eldoret Falcons 5-0 fueled by a hat-trick from Aleku Anyetu at the Ruiru Grounds on Saturday.

Yvonne Kavere and Okeyo Lavender scored a goal apiece to seal a comfortable victory for the home side who dominated from start to finish.

Kavere stroke home the opener after capitalising on the Falcon’s lapse in defense to tap in Okeyo’s pass from the left flank to beat goalie Annedy Kwamasi who fumbled to get a touch on the ball.

The dust had not settled yet and the Queens were it again seeking to add glamour to their crown, Okeyo taking advantage of a long pass from midfield and tactically beating the Falcons back line to slot in a second goal.

The build up to the Queens third goal is what left the fans at the edge of their seats, Aleku Anyetu shuttering the spirits of the visiting side on 39 minutes with a beautiful run down the central defence after a clever delivery by Kavere from the midfield and later on chipping the ball on the top corner.

At the hour mark, it looked like the Falcons’ fate was sealed after prolific Okeyo who was proving to be a menace for the visiting defence with her darting run passed tactifully to Aleku who inturn tapped in effortlessly planting the ball on the roof as a hapless Falcons goalie fumbled to get a touch on the ball but to no avail.

The pep talk from from coach didn’t do much to rejuvenate the spirits of the trailing side and just 5 minutes after the restart , Aleku who had proved to be a nightmare to the Falcons’ backline took advantage of a struggle for the ball in the opponents goal area to score a fifth.

The wounded Falcons spurned peharps their only chance to get a consolidating goal on 70 minutes , Wanyonyi Rael missing a one on one chance after an impressive run down the central defence but goalie Pauline Muhonja who was out to keep a clean sheet charged forward to salvage the situation.

It was not game over for Aleku who was out for a fourth goal with a rasping shot at the edge of the box on stoppage time but goalie Kwamasi Annedy saved her team from further damage with a diving save.
