Sofapaka and Tusker share the spoils, Leopards fall as Gor are held

Rodgers Aloro thumped in a header late, late in the game to complete a turn-around for Tusker who rallied from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw with Sofapaka in a thrilling league encounter at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.

Sofapaka seemed destined for the win after an Umaru Kasumba header in the third minute and a Brian Magonya goal in the 50th minute had put them on course for victory.

However Boniface Muchiri cut the deficit with six minutes left on the clock before Aloro did the unthinkable denying Sofapaka what had seemed as a sure bet to spark jubilant celebrations from Tusker’s bench.

Elsewhere at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Gor Mahia were held to a disappointing barren draw by a determined Western Stima. Both teams created chances in either side of the half but valiant defending by Stima kept Gor’s attackers at bay.

At the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Mathare United caged inconsistent AFC Leopards 2-0, Cliff Nyakeya and K. Omulunga scoring the goals, while at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, visiting Kakamega Homeboyz got all the maximum points after thumping blunt Karibangi Sharks 3-0.
