Sports CAS Noor Hassan issues stern warning to contractors

Sports Chief Administrative Secretary(CAS) Hassan Noor Hassan has said the timelines of completing the Kipchoge and Kamariny stadiums will not be extended, putting contractors on notice.

Speaking at Kipchoge Stadium while on a monitoring and evaluation tour, Hassan said the contractors have commenced works at the stadium and its completion will be concluded before the expiry of set timelines.

Hassan issued warning to contractors not doing their work as expected, on all stadiums across the country that they have to race to meet the timelines.

He said the phase one project that was done by a Chinese contractor is still pending due ongoing court case.

Sports CS Amina Mohammed had set September 20 2020 as the timeline for the completion of Kipchoge Stadium in Eldoret.

AK Nairobi branch Chairman Barnabas Korir said he is optimistic that the stadiums will be completed since many athletes use it.

He said the government has released the funds for the same and there is no apparent reason for any delay.
