Division One side SS Assad is keen to continue its dream run in the FKF Shield in a fortnight when they take on Bandari FC during what will be their first ever semi-finals appearance.

Assad coach Salim Kisasi has said Bandari makes for an intimidating opposition but his charges are bracing for the battle of their lives as they gun for a piece of history in the Cup competition.

“We know we are juniors to Bandari but we will make sure they get a run for their money because my boys are ready for history, said Kisasi.

Small Simba as famously know knocked out premier league side Ulinzi stars in their first match through penalty shootout as well as Naivs FC in the round of 16 before beating Congo boys by two goals to one in the quarter finals.

The team from Kwale is at the same time fighting to avoid league relegation but Kisasi is adamant they cause Shield upset.

Kilifi allstars will play host to Assad during the weekend Division One game at the plantation grounds as both teams are in the bottom of the log.

“We are struggling in terms of funds and injuries but our semi final slot will act as a motivator back in the league.”

Defending champions Kariobangi Sharks will play against KCB FC in the second semi final on 12th May ahead of the final which is slated for 1st June.

The winner will pocket 2 million from the sponsors as well as get a chance to represent Kenya in the Confederation Cup next season.
