Striker Erisa Ssekisambu has been handed his first CAF Confederation Cup start and will partner Nicholas Kipkirui in attack as Gor Mahia FC chase a place in the semi-finals against RS Berkane in Morocco.

A large chunk of the Gor squad arrived in Morocco’s northeastern city of Berkane barley hours before the clash and will look to overturn a 2-0 deficit against having lost the opening leg in Kasarani one week ago.

It had been feared that only eight Gor players would start against Berkane following a botched travel itinerary that saw players spend hours stranded at an airport in Doha and the squad miss the usual pre-match press briefing routines.

Captain Harun Shakava returns to the side after suspension and will pair with Joash Onyango in defense while Philemon Otieno and Geoffrey Ochieng start in the full back positions.

GOR LINE-UP

STARTING XI: Frederick Odhiambo (GK), Philemon Otieno, Geoffrey Ochieng, Joash Onyango, Harun Shakava, Kenneth Muguna, Samuel Onyango, Lawrence Juma, Francis Kahata, Nicholas Kipkirui, Erisa Ssekisambu
