Stage set for fierce battle at Copa Coca-Cola School Games

The Kenya Secondary School Sports Association, COPA Coca-Cola, North Eastern Regional finals will select their representatives for this year’s national games this week as the regional finals begin today at Sabunley Secondary School in Wajir.

The winning team will then proceed to Eldoret to battle it out for the national title between July 23- 28 at Hill School Secondary School in Eldoret, in Uasin Gishu County and will join Group ‘A’ which already has Western Region representatives, St. Peter’s Mumias High School, Eastern champions St. Cyprian High School and Riyabu Secondary School who are the Nyanza Region representatives.

The Under-16 tournament, now in its 10th year will have new champions in the boys’ category as last year’s champions, Kakamega High School, western region representatives will not be defending their title following their defeat at the county level.

In the girls’ category, Olympic High School, Nairobi region representatives will be seeking to retain the trophy they won during last year’s championship in Mombasa County.

Rift Valley Region as the hosts, will be represented by two girls teams since North Easter region will not be fielding a girls’ team.
