Starlets squad to play in Spain released

The 20-member national women’s football team Harambee Starlets for the six-day COTIF Women Football Tournament in Valencia, Spain will depart the country on Saturday at 3am local time (+3GMT).

Head coach David Ouma, his assistant Mary Adhiambo and Team Manager and former captain; Doreen Nabwire complete the travelling party with goalkeeper trainer Lawrence Webo missing after he was suspended over the alleged sex scandal.

The only big omission is St. John’s Kaloleni striker, Mwanahalima Adam, who is preparing for the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Term Two B Games that start on Tuesday in Kisumu.

The team, which has been in camp for two weeks since beating Uganda 4-0 in a warm up match in Kisumu earlier in the month, conducted their last training session on Friday morning at the Safaricom Stadium Kasarani, before being released to prepare for the trip.

In the last build up match, Starlets mauled USA’s Olivet Nazarine University 8-0 on Thursday, after edging out Mathare United’s under-16 boys side 3-0 on Wednesday in another friendly.
