Strathmore ladies will be out to bounce back against ANU over the weekend after suffering back to back defeats in the Kenya Basketball Federation Classic League.

The Madaraka-based side’s unbeaten streak was snapped 54-46 by champions Equity Hawks before slumping to a 59-39 defeat at the hands of KPA.

Strathmore coach Ronnie Owino is adamant the team will rediscover its winning ways, adding they had they lost to the strongest sides in the division.

“I am currently working on my players’ mentality and also working on mistakes that cost us in the previous matches, so that we can ensure that we reach the finals after falling out in the semis last season,” Owino said.

ANU were humiliated 92-52 by Equity but coach Mike Oluoch has urged his charges to put the defeat behind them.

“We lost heavily on our last match against Equity, but that will not hinder us from winning our next match, we are now focused on making our team solid by drawing failings from our loss to better the team,” Oluoch said.

In other matches, Zetech ladies will host former champions KPA, who will be expecting more after the weekend double swoop that saw them edge out Tangit Sparks and Strathmore.

The Dockers head coach Mike Opel, says that his team is undergoing gradual improvement and aims at slotting another weekend double as Zetech and KU Oryx line.

“It’s a new team and we are not only aiming at winning the weekend double but also pointing at composing the team together so that we can have a restored game and amaze our fans because at the end of the day it’s an enjoyable game and folks must have fun.”

Zetech University had an unfruitful weekend, after Eagle Wings punched them 55-44.
