Sunderland considering David Moyes as Advocaat’s replacement

Sunderland are considering enlisting the services of Real Sociedad manager David Moyes to replace Dick Advocaat who quit on Sunday.

The beleaguered club is yet to win a single match this season and are currently ranked 19th in the Premier League table with a paltry 3 points from 8 matches.

Moyes is however not top of the list with former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce, former Leicester manager Nigel Pearson and Burnley Manager Sean Dyche leading the pack. Dyche is however said to have declined the offer.

Moyes, 52, a former Everton and Manchester United boss has been in charge of Real Sociedad since November last year and have witnesses mixed results that have placed them just above the relegation zone in the Spanish La Liga, standing at position 16 with 6 points out of 7 matches.

The Black Cats are aiming at unveiling a manager before their next game against West Brom on October 17.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have announced plans to appoint their next manager within a week of after the sacking of Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers was reportedly told of his dismissal over the phone by Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon after the 1-1 draw with Everton.

The Reds are set to open discussions with former Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Kloop in the next few days with reports indicating that the German has already agreed a three-year deal with Liverpool and is set to bring with him his assistant at Dortmund Zeljko Buvac.

Former Chelsea and current Real Madrid Manger Carlo Ancelotti and former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo have also been named as favourites to take up the reigns at Anfield.
