Swords clip Eagle Wings in basketball league

Eagle Wings were handed their second reverse of the weekend as Swords clipped them 51-31 during Sunday’s Kenya Ladies Basketball Federation tie at the Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium.

Edna Kola and Neema Achieng combined for 21 points to inspire Swords’ commanding victory with Eunice Duma providing the only bright spark for Eagle Wings with a couple of three-pointers.

Kedogo Everlyne, the Wings player coach, did not hide her disappointment with the result for the team that had suffered another crushing 67-58 defeat to Storms on Saturday.

“Currently my players are not turning up for training because they are committed to other tasks and some are out of the city, this forces me to play for my team and am not that fit, but we are hopeful to be back on track as soon as possible,” Kedogo said.

However, the Kedogo who also coaches the national ladies team the Lionesses is positive that Eagle Wings will make it to the quarters.
