Tanzania’s Manula out of Kenya tie

Tanzania’s Taifa Stars will miss the services of three key local based players who played in the African Cup of Nations, in the African Nations Champions (CHAN) qualifier set for 4:00pm EAT.

Head coach has released his starting team, without injured Azam duo Mudathir Yahya and David Mwantika, and Simba SC’s Aishi Manula.

Manula, the first choice all inclusive Taifa Stars senior team goalkeeper, is replaced by veteran Juma Kaseja currently attached at topflight side KMC, while Jonas Mkude of Simba fills Yahya’s deep midfield void.

Centre back Mwantika, who had a good season with Simba and played in all Tanzania’s AFCON matches, is replaced by versatile Erasto Nyoni who has been dropped from the midfield to defense.

John Raphael Bocco, the captain, will lead the goal-hunt mission alonside Ayub  Lyanga.

This is the first match for head coach Ettiene Ndayigajire who replaced Emmanuel Amuneke after the poor show in the AFCON.

The return match is set for Sunday, August 4 in Nairobi.
