Team Kenya stars alongside Mbappe, Cavani in Nike ad

Team Kenya has made a cameo appearance in a new advert by sportswear giants Nike with global a-listers also featuring in the brilliant video.

In the ‘Choose Go’ ad, two-time World Marathon champion Abel Kirui and two other Kenyan athletes join a star-studded cast in helping propel the Earth back into motion after it apparently stopped.

Paris Saint Germain strikers Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, retired NBA great Kobe Bryant sprinter Ge Manqi, gymnast Simone Biles, comedian Kevin Hart and NFL star Odell Beckham Jr also star in the commercial.

The fictitious ‘Choose Go’ film begins with a news presenter announcing a ‘Stopocalypse’ which means that the Earth has stopped rotating on its axis.

A protagonist watches a hamster run and starts running herself and asks everyone to join in to put the Earth back into motion, explained with a spinning globe by scientist Bill Nye.

The other superstars are then all seen joining in, urging onlookers to follow and jog along.

People around the world are shown running until the news presenter announces that they were running in the wrong direction. Everyone then turns and starts running in the right direction.

Kirui, who is sponsored by Nike, posted an excerpt of the video on his Twitter page @AbelKirui1, hours after it was published by the American kit firm.

In 2012, Kirui who is sponsored by Nike wore running attire made from recycled plastic bottles in a revolutionary innovation that would help make Nike products sustainable for the environment.
