Thika Queens hit Ulinzi Starlets in season opener

Thika Queens kicked off the 2020/21 FKF Women Premier League round one action with a 2-1 win against Ulinzi Starlets at the Utalii grounds on Sunday.

Both teams had a subtle first half despite several attempts to net a goal falling short leading to naught scores at the close of the half.

After the dust settled down, Thika Queens forward, Fauzia Omar opened the scoresheet in the 73rd minute.

Sarah Idza maneuvered a goal past Ulinzi Starlets defense in the 81st minute handing Thika Queens its second goal.

Jentrix Kuyudi scored Ulinzi Starlets consolation goal from the penalty spot at the brink of closing time for a 2-1 final score.

Meanwhile, at the Stima Members Club, Kibera Girls Soccer Academy held Makolnders in a 1-1 draw taking home a point each.
