Thunder strikes KCA as Blazers silence the Blades

Thunder showcased their thirst for the tittle silencing KCA University 58-44 in a closely contested match at the USIU grounds that saw top Kenyan point guard Grifffin Ligare score 16  points to uplift his team to victory.

KCA started the game on a slow note being thrashed 18-08 in the first quarter but found their form in the second quarter outscoring the winners 08-07 and a further 14-14 draw in the third quarter, before losing 14-19 in the last quarter.

Speaking at the match venue,  Thunder head coach Abel Nson hailed his side for the win, but expressed concern at the defensive break downs in his side, adding that it needs to be worked on.

“We started the game slowly but I’m thankful we were able to bounce back. Our focus now shifts to our next weekend fixture against defending champions KPA in Mombasa,” he said.
