Transfers: Atletico for Ibrahimovic, Man U courting Nainggolan

Atletico Madrid wants to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the January transfer window once their transfer ban is lifted, according to The Sport.

The Swede is unattached after Manchester United included him on the club’s list of released players at the end of the season, following a serious knee injury against Anderlecht in the Europa League.

There has been much talk about the striker’s next move as he enters the twilight years of an exceptionally successful career, with teams in America and China heavily linked.

Manchester United

Manchester United are willing to bid up to £40m for Roma star Radja Nainggolan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Manager Jose Mourinho is tracking Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, who would cost around the same price, but the Italian paper report United are keen on Nainggolan and are prepared to offer £125,000-a-week wages to secure his signature.

Gazzetta has also reported that Mourinho has already contacted people close to Nainggolan to express his interest in the midfielder.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, could be closer to signing for Manchester United after the Spain international’s wife began following the club on Instagram.

Arsenal

In a close development, Lyon’s president has confirmed that Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette still wants to leave the club, but insisted the 26-year-old France forward will not be sold until a suitable replacement is found.
