Transfers: Bayern issue warning amid Lewandowski interest

 

Bayern Munich have warned rival clubs they will be reported to FIFA if any illegal approach is made over their striker Robert Lewandowski.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been credited with interest in the Poland international with enquiries understood to have been made over the past week after Lewandowski’s agent reported that he was not happy.

A club statement read: ‘Lewandowski’s contract expires 2021, he signed it not long ago.

CHELSEA

The Premier League champions have begun talks with Atletico Madrid over £50m Diego Costa even though a transfer ban means the striker could not play for them until 2018.

The team is also planning to loan out 22-year-old centre-back Kurt Zouma this summer as they look to sign Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci and Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk.

The champions   will also receive £2.7m from Roma when Mohamed Salah completes his move to Liverpool as a result of a sell-on clause agreed with the Italian club when the Egypt international left Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are close to the signing of Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore.

TOTENHAM
