Tusker suspend Best George over demeaning remarks

Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker FC on Tuesday  suspended Ugandan head coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe over alleged demeaning remarks he made about his players in an interview with a local website.(NOT Citizen Digital).

Club chairman Dan Aduda on Tuesday said that his assistant Francis Baraza will take charge until the end of the season.

“We asked him to step aside because the players were not comfortable with the comments he made,”Aduda diplomatically told Citizen.

It is alleged that in the interview, Nsimbe said that he would  “get rid of almost 50 percent of his players whose footballing career is aging” at the end of the campaign .

Citizen Digital has however gathered that the end was nigh for the Ugandan who took  charge of the team at the beginning of this term.

A senior player who spoke to Citizen on condition of anonymity said: “We  are not sure whether he is with us or not.He came for training today but was late and did not take charge of  the session .The management  just told us that they’ll give us a direction on the matter.

With the latest development, it is highly unlikely that the soft spoken Ugandan will get his job back.

Best’s predicament evokes the tale of former team coach Francis Kimanzi who suffered a similar fate two years ago.Kimanzi, back then, was asked by the club hierarchy to step aside as the team wobbled in it’s title quest.He was eventually replaced by Ugandan Paul Nkata(currently with Bandari).

Kimanzi, also a former Harambee Stars tactician is currently the head coach of KPL outfit Mathare United.
