Tuskers Obiny lauds FKF sponsorship deal

Tusker official Charles Obiny has lauded Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa for finding a sponsor for the FKF Premier League.

Football Kenya Federation announced online gaming firm as the official FKF Premier League title partner in a Sh1.2 billion five-year deal in July 16.

Under the partnership, each participating club will be entitled to at least Sh8 million annually from the federation.

Mr. Charles Obiny gave his heartfelt gratitude to the FKF president Nick Mwendwa on finding a league title sponsor.

” I would like to thank FKF president Nick Mwendwa for going out of his way to find a sponsor for the league since it will go a long way in sustaining the teams and elevating the play of the game,” said Mr. Obiny.

“Personally, I don’t have any problem with the FKF Premier League since I believe it’s the same clubs that owned the Kenyan Premier League are the same that will own the FKF Premier League and if proper structures are set up the league will be able to run smoothly, ” added Mr. Obiny.

Mr. Charles Obiny commented on the reduced exposure of the players due to lack of media coverage.

“Ever since supersport left our players have lacked exposure but the onset of the star times sponsorship deal will enable the players to be scouted by foreign teams and hence creating a competitive league,” said Mr. Obiny

Dates have been set for the FKF Premier League/National Super League promotion playoff pitting 16th placed KPL side Kisumu All-Stars against third-placed NSL side Vihiga United.

The first leg has been slated for Wednesday, October 7, 2020, while the second leg will be played on Sunday, October 11, 2020. The winner on aggregate is entitled to a place in the 2020/21 FKF Premier League.
