Two Kenyans within cut as Johannessen goes top at Open

Riz Charania and Mohit Mediratta are the only local hopefuls within the projected cut line of even par in the Kenya Open Championship Round 2 live action.

A total 75 players are currently within the projection from the field of 156 golfers took to the course on Friday morning.

Norwegian Kristian Krogh Johannessen has replaced Round One leaders Max Orrin and Ross Kellett at the summit after a 5-under through the first 9; an eagle on the 10th and birdies on the 12th, 13th and 18th which has him on a 9-under for Round 2.

Sigona’s Mediratta is currently T38 at 1-over for the round and 1-under for the tournament. He started the day 2-under but has dropped shots on the 1st, 5th and 6th holes before making amends with birdies on the 3rd and the 7th.

Windsor’s Charania is currently T70, two shots clear of the projected cut.
