Ugandan Kintu tasked to redeem dimming City Stars
Nairobi City Stars have hired Ugandan coach Jimmy Kintu to take over the reins of the team after a difficult start to the 2018/19 campaign.
Kintu, 31, is a certified FUFA coach instructor and also holds a CAF B license. Club CEO Herbet Kunga said that the Ugandan will take over from John Amboko who handled the team in it’s 10 league matches played so far.
City, a former Kenyan Premier League side has had a rough start to the campaign winning just once in 10 attempts; the rest being five draws and four losses.
The Ugandan tactician first assignment will be against Thika United on Wednesday at Thika Municipal stadium.
The former premier league side currently lies 16th on the log four points above the relegation zone.
Ten FKF National Super League matches have been lined up on Wednesday, January 30 among them a triple-header at Camp Toyoyo.
League Leaders Ushuru will hope to get back to winning ways when they host eighth-placed Bidco United at the Ruaraka Grounds.
Wazito coach Mohammed Ahmed, meanwhile, will be up against his former side Modern Coast Rangers in the third of a tipple-header at Camp Toyoyo.
Thika Stadium will also host a doubleheader featuring home sides Thika United and Fortune Sacco against Nairobi City Stars and Migori Youth respectively.
