Ulinzi late winner halts Bandari FC

Ulinzi Stars inflicted Bandari FC with only their second Kenyan Premier League (KPL) defeat of the season as they won 2-1 at Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium to slow the Coastal club’s title charge on Sunday.

What had been an uneventful clash exploded in the second half with all three goals coming in the closing half-hour after Ulinzi were awarded a penalty which Enosh Ochieng duly dispatched following a transgression by Bernard Odhiambo.

Yema Mwana hauled the KPL leaders back on level terms in the 70th minute but it is the hosts that had the final say as Ezekiel Okare tucked away the winner with only five minutes left on the clock.

Vihiga United won 2-1 at home against Zoo Kericho FC with Christopher Masinza and Dennis Wafula getting on the scoresheet while Danson Chetambe converted a late penalty for the visitors.

At the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, KCB FC climbed off the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over Nzoia Sugar thanks to goals from Bethwel Warambo and Chrispinus Odhiambo.
