Vihiga Queens closer to WPL glory after Oserian rout

Vihiga Queens Coach Alex Alumira heaped glowing praise on Teresa Engesha as her five-goal heroics helped dismantle Wadadia 6-2 to pull three points clear at the summit of the Women Premier League (WPL) Zone B.

The resounding victory took them a step closer to clinching the WPL title and will now have the chance to put seal the race when they host second-placed Oserian Ladies in what promises to be a mouthwatering decider.

A win for Oserian will see them level Queens on 3o points but will need to score more than 12 goals to overhaul their opponent’s superior goal difference.

“We needed to win and came to this match with the right psychology. Teresa has been in very good form so I’m very happy for her; remember she also scored a hattrick against Eldoret Falcons,” Alumira said.

“I think we’ve wrapped our business. Oserian will need a miracle!” Alumira said.
