Phoebe Oketch and Euphracia Afwayi were on target as Vihiga Queens downed Kisumu AllStars 2-1 to extend their lead at the summit of the Kenya Women Premier League standings on Wednesday.

The result took Queens’ tally for the season to 54 points, six clear of second-placed Thika Queens who have one match in hand as well as snapped AllStars’ second leg unbeaten streak.

Oketch opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Afwayi doubled the advantage three minutes into the second half to seal the win.

At the Thika Sub-County Stadium, Thika stayed apace with the league leaders when they pummelled Spedag 5-0.

Elsewhere at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Eldoret, Falcons continued their fine form with a 7-1 demolition of Makolanders Women to leapfrog Trans Nzoia Falcons into third on the WPL log.
