Wadri’s penalty takes Bandari to Cup last four

Kenya’s Bandari FC became the first team to sail through to the semi-finals of the 2019 Super Cup which got underway on Tuesday at National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania after edging Singida FC 1-0 in the first knock out tie.

William Wadri’s penalty in the 67th minute was enough to send the Kenyan side in the last four of the tourney after Singida player handled the ball in the box.

The Tanzanians had numerous chances to open the score sheet in the second half but failed to convert.

Bandari who are making their debut in the tournament which started in 2017 will face the winner between Kariobangi Sharks and Tanzania’s giants Yanga in the semis.

Tomorrow, defending champions and Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia will start their title defence against lowly ranked Mbao FC at the same venue before AFC Leopards, another Kenyan side , square it out with Simba SC.
