Wakhu smelling victory at the Great Rift Safari Tour
- Tuesday was a disastrous day for senior pro Dismas Indiza but it was a good one for Malawi’s Paul Chidale who moved to fourth and sixth.
- Malawi’s Paul Chidale shot two under par 69 for a total of one over par 214 in fourth place and still in with a good chance of moving to the top in the closing round.
David Wakhu hopes to sustain his fine run in Wednesday’s final round of the 2021 Safari Tour third leg, at the Great Rift Valley Golf Resort in Naivasha.
Wakhu continued to show brilliant form for the third consecutive day as he finally moved to the top of the leaderboard ahead of Muthaiga’s Greg Snow and Railway Club’s Samuel Njoroge who finished the day on level par total of 213 each.
“I am still happy with a two under par and since there is another day, who knowns? Today will be a bigger day than yesterday and I hope I won’t lose focus on the winding day. I won’t change my game plan, I will play as it comes and see how it goes,’’ said Wakhu.

“I am not 100% happy but I will take because there is one more to go today, so I will leave everything in the hands of God. It could have been better, at number 17 I was six under , I made nine their and finished two under , so I’ll make sure I improve.’’ said Chidale who earlier birdied the six, seven and eight, and at the 10th, 13th and 16th.
The final round is already on, with the prize-giving ceremony set for at 2.30pm.
