Wanjala pips Kagere and Juma to claim the gong
Kakamega Homeboyz striker Jeremiah Wanjala was on Tuesday crowned as the Sports Journalist Association of Kenya (SJAK) Player of the Month of September
Wanjala attracted the highest points in a vote undertaken by the football writers, beating Gor Mahia’s Rwandan hotshot Meddie Kagere and red-hot Kariobangi Sharks striker Masoud Juma.
The little known Wanjala won 19 votes, four more than Kagere, while Juma attracted 14.
During the month of September, Wanjala was in good form scoring two goals and assisting an equal number as the Kakamega based side rode to a second place position on the log before losing gas as the competition got tighter.
