Kenyan Premier League newcomer Wazito FC has signed four new players in the current transfer window as they race to strengthen their squad.

The four recruits are Eric Ochieng, Edwin Wanjala, Zedrick Imbosa and Antony Njeru.

Ochieng and Njeru join the newbies from National Super League side KCB while Wanjala and Imbosa have been roped from Kangemi United and Green Commandos respectively.

Njeru joined KCB at the beginning of the year from Mutindwa FC but found it difficult to nail down a starting berth. Njeru and Imbosa signed a three-year deals each, that should keep them at the club through to 2021.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Wazito FC head coach Frank Ouna, expressed confidence in the new signings. “I have made several choices in life; we have those people who shop in a big supermarket because they have big money and that’s the reason why I decided to go in NSL side,”he said in an indirect reference to the financial woes bedeviling the outfit.

Wazito has so far lost striker Pistone Mutamba who left at the start of the month, for Sofapaka, while midfielder Harun Nyakah and winger Joe Waithira decamped to Nakumatt FC.

The Frank Ouna coached side has struggled in their debut season in the top-flight and currently sit second from bottom on the standings, with 17 points from 18 games.

Meanwhile, 2016 champions Tusker FC have signed Farahaj Ominde from Chemilil Sugar, tying him to a three-year contract.

Faraj arrives from Chemelil Sugar where he spent one-and-a-half years and previously played for Mukumu Boys High School. He is effective in both defence and attack. His signing comes hot on the heels of the acquisition of forward David Juma.

Faraj becomes Tusker’s second signing during this transfer window after coach Robert Matano raided Bidco United for the services of David Juma.
