Wazito complete the signing of Otieno from Leads United

Wazito FC have completed the signing of left back Mark Otieno from Super 8 Division side Leads United.

Otieno who is a utility defender becomes the second signing of the club in under a week having completed the signing of Vincent Oburu from AFC leopards yesterday.

The Onjiko High School alumnus will compete for a place in the left back position with Dennis Ng’ang’a and he is delighted with the move.

“It is a good move for me because it will help me to improve as a player, I am very happy to be here. My goal is to help the team and keep growing as a player,” he told the club’s official website

Head coach Fred Ambani said they have been scouting Otieno for soemtime and believes he will be a good addition to the team.

“He is a good young player. We watched him closely in the lower leagues and we were impressed with his quality. I am happy to have him in the team,” Ambani said.

Wazito who finished their debut season at position 13 are strengthening their squad ahead of next season to fight for the title and Ambani believes signing utility players will prove to be a key part of their campaign

“His versatility is also another important aspect of his game because sometimes you can miss one or two defenders through suspension or injuries but when you have a player who can comfortably play in any position that’s a big plus for the team,” he concluded.
